Abilities like analysis and corroboration are crucial to the completion of the assignment because the assessment was created with the intent to perceive how skillfully students can apply these two particular abilities. This assignment helps in furthering knowledge on the topic of social Darwinism through bringing attention to the effects it has had in sociology, biology, and politics within the United States.

Critical Thinking Paper - Critical Thinking

The Critical Thinking Paper attempts to challenge students to write an argumentative paper about a current social issue of their choice with evidence in order to further improve their thinking, organizational, and literacy skills. The required abilities one must posses to finalize the paper sufficiently include, research skills that are helpful when gathering evidence to support one's claim and of upmost importance are organizational skills. An overriding variable in the assembling of a variety of differing ideas into one coherent text and in the categorization of evidence.

The Relationship between Minority Groups and The American Education System, commentates on the systemic inequalities present within the Educational system, how it fundamentally puts minority groups at a disadvantage, and how we can begin to solve this systematic issue.

I come from a family of immigrants and I'm a minority myself. Whilst growing up I had always been fairly conscious of how I had to work harder in comparison to other students in order to achieve the same level of educational achievement that they had managed to grasp more easily than I had because of the ways that the system functioned at large. Though I wasn't aware of the numerical values nor evidence then, I knew that these fundamental differences in education were present within the United States from my personal experiences since then. The research I conducted for this assignment provided me with the knowledge to further cement and prove the past trains of thoughts that I had.

Laura 1944 Cinematic Analysis Quarter 2 : Media and Communications

The goal of a cinematic analysis is to analyze a historically significant film, why it became historically significant, and its impact on the audience of its time in comparison to the modern audience. This dive into the symbolisms, historiography, and the plot of these films, requires a variety of skills. A keen eye for cinematographic techniques, lighting, and color theory, is of great importance. The ability to identify when these techniques are used within a film will help one to further break it down and discover the director's intent in using them. English skills, such as the ability to identify themes, to gather evidence, and to unveil plot points within a film, are often used when creating a proficient analysis. Historical skills, such as research are prominent within part B and are expected to be used as well. The directors choice in converting the noir novel, Laura, into the format of a film affects the viewers understanding on the topic of mentally abusive relationships through physically showing the differing signs of jealousy within a relationship that may further lead to possessive attitudes between the victim and perpetrator. Eventually, leading to a mentally abusive relationship similarly to the one pictured between the characters of Laura Hunter and Lydecker within the film.
